Roller Shade Component Options

We have put together a collection of brackets, hem bar options, and blackout accessories that we believe you will be pleased with. Our bracket collection is especially important as we have logged hundreds of research hours into choosing brackets that enable easy installation, onsite adjustments, and ensure product performance for a long life span. Our channels and hem bars have also gone through the scrutiny of our expert team to ensure we give you not only the best quality, but also the best “bank for your buck”!

Not sure which option to choose? Check out a brief overview of our recommendations for each component in the downloadable PDF at the bottom of this post.

Brackets

SKYLINE SINGLE

USE An all-purpose roller shade bracket, functional with or without fascia.

NOTES At 4.25”x4”, this bracket provides a locking and tension system ensuring tube remains in place.

AVOID Mounting into pockets with small dimensions or windows with less than 3" depth (note brackets and fascia may protrude).

SKYLINE DUAL

USE A compact two-shade system bracket paired with a fascia or without.

NOTES At 5.25”x5.25”, this is the industry’s most compact dual system, also ensures light containment with solid top fascia.

AVOID Specifying sheer closest to window or mounting into window openings with less than 4" depth (note brackets and fascia may protrude).

Hem Bars

AVARA

USE To minimize the removal of shade bands from side channels.

NOTES Creates rigid bottom hem ensuring shade remains in channels.

AVOID Extremely wide width shades.

HEAT SEALED

USE Works with both “U” and “L” channels.

NOTES Has a clean look of continual fabric. Lightweight and versatile.

AVOID Patterned sheers or blackouts will be visible to the exterior.

FABRIC WRAPPED

USE Provides decorative fabric wrap to metal at bottom of shade.

NOTES The best of both worlds: the durability of the external bar combined with the clean look of the heat-sealed hem bar.

AVOID Pairing with channels and Basketweave fabrics, due to thickness.

Channels

“L” CHANNEL

USE Most commonly used as a sill channel but, can also be side channel.

NOTES Minimizes light penetration while providing guests shade forgiveness.

AVOID When complete light capture is required (in meeting rooms, etc.).

INSIDE MOUNT CHANNEL

USE Can function for either sill or side channels.

NOTES Light capturing by encapsulating shade inside window.

AVOID Common for shade to come out of channel and often require property to adjust.

OUTSIDE MOUNT CHANNEL

USE Used for outside mount on window wall.

NOTES Captures light by enveloping shade security in the channel.

AVOID When inside mounting shade.
